It all started with a simple introduction, with a boy asking a girl a simple question:

“Hey, my name is Chris, or Bikbik. What’s your name?”

“Hi, I’m Ahniang.”

That was over 20 years ago…

Twenty years later, fate had decided, and serendipitously, they both ran into each other downtown on August 25, 2025, at the courthouse while conducting their own business.

“Hey Chris! It’s Ahniang!” — Ahniang

“Oh, hey there, Ahniang… I’m surprised you remembered me.” — Bikbik

It was their first time seeing each other in over 15 years.

“We should catch up sometime.” — Ahniang

“Sure thing, what’s your IG?” — Bikbik

The boy then sent her a direct message… and the rest became a story worthy of laughter and joy.

Fast forward to December 26th.

It was their first date as boyfriend and girlfriend.

“I want you to be my wife,” he said as he slid the ring onto her finger across the dinner table.

A few days later, on December 28th,

He got down on one knee and said, “Will you marry me?”

“Yes,” she said during their engagement day, surrounded by all of their family.
